Who are your neighbors?
Just like those peddlers who sell maps to the stars homes, we at UpperEast.com have done the research for you (have a look at our East Side Celebrities page). The Upper East Side is awash in celebrities; from local New York legends to Hollywood film star transplants – the Upper East Side is the home and the playground of some of the biggest boldfaced names.
You may think your neighbors are merely bankers, doctors and lawyers since the celebrities like to think they are inconspicuous here away from the flashbulbs of paparazzi and sizzle of Southern California. But upon closer inspection, these well groomed, well-dressed stars blend into the ‘hood. They shop here, dine here and party here.
Though some stars may be purchasing new homes downtown, they continue to venture uptown to some of the world’s best restaurants. From a Brad Pitt Page 6 sighting at World Bar on 48th and 1st, to Tom Cruise sighting over dumplings and miso glazed sea bass at Tao to Olsen Twins popping up like those whack-a-moles at charity benefits and hip new spots, this playground is ripe to view celebrities in their own environment.
Below are some suggested viewing venues to catch a glimpse of a star guzzling a Cosmopolitan or chowing down on some gourmet food:
Serendipity (60th between 2nd and 3rd Avenues)
Lollipop (62nd between Madison and Park Avenues)
Elaine’s (2nd Avenue between 88th and 89th Streets)
Mr. Chow’s (57th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues)
Four Season’s 5757 (57th between Madison and Park Avenues)
