Owners Caroline Lameda and Eszler Szabo have created a salon where state-of-the-art techniques are mixed with expert styling. Services are performed in an uber relaxed setting, which includes Moroccan lamps, upbeat music and prices so reasonable; that you can’t help but relax. |  |
Caroline and Eszler have created an ultimate "hair spa". Trained in the French tradition of apprenticeship under master stylists, they pride themselves on having a skilled staff familiar with the latest innovations. In a relaxed and cozy setting, they offer superb cuts and expert coloring at reasonable prices. MV Salon carries also a full line of French hair treatments products.
“We learned together,” says Eszler of her relationship with Caroline.”We did hair for the older women in Paris who were very chic and elegant.”
The acronym MV stands for the initials for each of Caroline and Eszler’s mothers first names. While MV Salon is a Marianna Vera production they like to think of the initials as standing for “modern vitality”.
“Our salon has an international vibe where each person can find his or her roots,” explains Lameda.
The cultural blending works for the co-owners. Lameda comes from a long line of hair experts and is Venezuelan and French; Eszler is French and Hungarian. The two met when they were fifteen-year-old students at a beautician school in Paris.
Twelve years ago, Lameda decided it was time to open her own salon. So, she contacted her old friend, Eszler and an alliance was born. Eszler was still working in Paris but quickly wrapped up her life in France to move to New York City to partner with Lameda in the MV Salon.
The salon specializes in color treatments and haircuts. They are unique because they only use European products. The prices are mind-boggling and reasonable.
“It was a great hair color!!! I know I love to be blonde; but Caroline convinced me to try red,” said Suzie, a long time customer.”It was a wonderful experience! She was very patient and very kind. Her honesty was well appreciated and that gave me a lot of trust! I was very happy to have met her. It’s always worth it.”
